The Rotman School has been a fabulous growth story for the past 15 years, achieving global scale and international recognition, but our history of leading business education goes back to 1901, when the first diploma program in Commerce was established at the University of Toronto. The Faculty of Management was established in 1971, and was renamed in honour of graduate and donor Joseph L. Rotman in 1995. In 2012 as part of our initial campaign drive, we opened the doors of our newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility, doubling our teaching, research and study spaces and increasing our program, faculty and student base. Today we are the top ranked business school in Canada for 10 years running, with our faculty research program ranked third globally, ahead of Stanford, MIT-Sloan, Chicago-Booth, Columbia, INSEAD and the London Business School, among others. In addition to our robust MBA, MFin and PhD programs, we will launch a Master of Financial Risk Management program in 2016. Rotman now stands amongst the elite business schools internationally.
The next leap forward for our school is to raise our impact and extend our reach to establish Rotman as a truly leading global brand in management education. We will inspire intrepid thinking on the most pressing business and societal problems of our time through an integrated, cross-disciplinary approach to management education. We will transform the world’s top students into the globe’s most influential leaders by offering a unique educational experience that enables students not only to master analytics, but to become creative problem solvers. We will engage a world of Rotman alumni by creating more opportunities for alumni to mentor, connect, support, inspire, advocate and hire.
The Rotman School is getting ever closer to achieving its campaign goal of $200 million, and there are so many ways you can become involved. Your support fuels new initiatives, enriches our community and raises our impact. Most of all, it enables us to deliver more of what Canada and the world needs. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of our future.
